We're expanding and require additional Consultants!

We’re winning more assignments, more senior assignments and an interesting mixture across several key sectors and within that, across various functions. Hence we need to grow the team…..this is where you might come in.


As a Consultant within Wilson Brook you will:


  • Support across all assignments with predominantly telephone-based work
  • Some internet research (although the Research Team under the direction if Nick Hardy do the majority of this)
  • Write briefing documents and adverts (where necessary)
  • Participate in briefing meetings with the client to take the best possible brief
  • Approach passive candidates and conducting initial screening calls, 
  • Doing the same with candidates who respond to adverts/LinkedIn messages (yes we use those to)
  • Contacting senior contacts to ask for referrals and recommendations
  • Teams Interviews to determine suitability for shortlist: write candidate reports
  • Update & Shortlist calls/Teams meetings with our clients
  • Calls to candidates/clients to arrange interviews 
  • Interview prep & Debrief calls
  • Testimonial & reference calls
  • Offer negotiation
  • Resignation support
  • Post-start date follow up
  • And if you want to…..business development – identify and win your own assignments!


Remember, most of the people we speak to are not actively looking to change jobs. Therefore, we’re often approaching them out of the blue, they’re not expecting our call, they don’t know us, they’re not thinking about making a career move. That initial call – indeed that initial 60 seconds is so important. You have to build rapport, trust and to get the person talking. Understanding their background, their situation, their aspirations…ultimately, do they have the right experience for the assignment? Will they be a good match: from a skills, culture and personality perspective? This is not an easy call. You have to be really on the ball.  Whilst you’re talking to them you’ll be taking notes, typing straight into their record on our database, thinking about the next question, digging a little deeper where necessary, capturing important information for both this assignment and future reference. All of this is done without telling them a thing about the opportunity we’re dealing with! Once you’ve established if they’re a good match then we need to take them through the process:


  • Share enough information about the opportunity to pique their interest – selling back against their needs and aspirations
  • Request NDA & CV
  • Review CV
  • Send Candidate Briefing Document and ask them to comment on suitability and interest level
  • Arrange and conduct Teams interviews (again taking notes whilst interviewing)
